Who is “us”?
“Us” is, still, a little exaggerated. Actually, a “one-woman-team” is behind the idea, conceptual design and realization of working-in-germany.com. As usual in long-term projects, there are people in the background who help with suggestions, discussions, feedback and by their encouraging and inciting. In my case, this is especially my cohabitee Wolfgang.
The creation of working-in-germany
The idea of this web platform was not a single flash of inspiration. Rather, it grew from a personal need of my own over a detour of more than a year and over several stages of development to what it is today. Besides editorial contents, the technical realization was a great challenge. The internet, then, I knew only as a user. How the pages are created was unknown to me. Thanks to several fortunate coincidents, I could gain the necessary know-how and start in November of 2005 with slightly less than 120 pages. Since, the number of pages and the number of users have been increasing.
What is the goal?
The idea to create this website grew from my own situation and the need to have information on work-related topics described comprehesibly, compact and neutrally. Whether there are problems in the employment-relationship, like bullying, employee talks or even dismissal, or problems in business start-ups – a good solution needs information. As a business-starter, you need to acquire the necessary information quickly, for being able to do your actual job as soon as possible, which is to generate turnover. An unemployed’s autonomy towards the authorities grows with his knowledge of his alternatives. Although I had the internet and a variety of advice centres, I experienced how difficult it is to get the information needed in the individual situation. Those are the travails I would like to shorten for you by providing clipped and precise data from diverse sources and giving you suitable advice for every headword. Since the beginning, I have operated this platform without funding from public or private sources and worked on it full-time. I pursue the idea to bankroll the website by having adverts placed. This is realized through cooperations and with affiliate businesses.
